Guelph man facing charges after incident in Perth East

A 42-year-old is charged with assault in what police are saying was an intimate partner violence incident

Perth County OPP have charged a Guelph resident with assault and mischief following reports of an intimate partner violence incident. 

Police say that on March 14, around 7:28 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance that occurred in Perth East. Upon arrival, the officers found out that one person had assaulted the other. The investigation revealed that the accused damaged an item that belonged to the victim. 

As a result, a 42-year-old man from Guelph has been arrested and charged with:

  • Assault - spousal
  • Mischief - domestic

The accused has been released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on April 17.
