Domestic disturbance call leads to assault, cruelty to animals charges

A Kitchener resident faces spousal assault and cruelty to animals charges following a domestic disturbance that occurred in Perth East on Sunday morning.

“During the investigation, the victim revealed historical assaults,” says a news release issued by Perth County OPP. The victim suffered minor injuries.

The 29-year-old accused was charged with:
    •    Cruelty to animals - unnecessary pain, suffering or injury
    •    Assault with a weapon - spousal
    •    Mischief under $5,000

The accused was releases from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
