A business in North Perth was vandalized in a break-in sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, police say.

Perth OPP said the business is on Main Street in Atwood.

Sometime between 3 p.m. Jan. 27 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 28, one or more people gained entry to the business.

Once inside, they tipped tables, set off fire extinguishers and spread barbecue sauce on multiple walls, police said in a news release.

Driver charged with impaired

Perth OPP report that on Jan. 28, just before 8 p.m., officers stopped and investigated a motor vehicle that the officer knew to be owned and operated by a suspended driver on St. Andrew Street in West Perth.

Upon speaking with the driver, the officer had reason to believe the driver was impaired by a drug.

The driver conducted a standard field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested and transported to a local operations centre for a drug recognition evaluation.

A 65-year-old from West Perth has been charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs.

A 90-day driver's license suspension seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated, police said. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date.
