Arrest made in North Perth arson investigation

A 27-year-old North Perth resident has been charged in relation to an arson investigation that began last month.

Perth County OPP say officers responded to a Queen Street East address in North Perth after receiving a report that someone was lighting a fire in a laundry room. The suspect was identified, arrested and charged with mischief endangering life. The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Stratford at a later date.

Domestic disturbance

On Sept. 10, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in North Perth. The victim was taken to hospital suffering from non life-threatening injuries. A 26-year-old Atwood resident has been charged with assault causing bodily harm - spousal.

Envelope with money taken

On the evening of Sept. 6, Perth County OPP arrested a 45-year-old suspect after a theft victim reported that an envelope of money was stolen from their residence. Some of the missing money was later recovered. The accused stands charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
