It is with great sadness and love that we announce the passing of Linda Marie Rau, age 70, of Stratford. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Seaforth Community Hospital on May 10, 2023. Born in London, August 8, 1952, daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel Downham.
Linda is survived by her children. She was the proud and loving mother of Todd (Valerie), Tim (Carey), Carrie (Margaret). Cherished Nana of Brooklyn (Kason), Nicole, and Olivia Rau. Anthony, Tyra, Tristan and Gregory Remers. Great Nana to Riah and Charlotte Remers. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Bob Downham (Jan), Muriel Boyd (Louie), Carolyn McPherson (Ed). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Tammy in infancy.
Linda worked at TD Bank Downie Street for many years until her retirement. She touched many lives at the bank and will be fondly remembered for her kindness, infectious smile and witty sense of humor.
She then had the greatest years of her life caring for her grandchildren until they started school. She made endless memories with them during this time and was extremely proud of the young women they are becoming.
Family would like to thank Dr. Kara, Dr.Irvine, the staff at Stratford General Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital, and Maplewood Manor for caring for Linda over the recent years and final weeks, your kindness will not be forgotten.
