The family announces with great sadness the passing of Scott Derek Michael Nelles at the Vancouver General Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2024. Born March 17, 1961 in Stratford ON, he is survived by his parents Wayne and Dot Nelles and Carol Ann and Heinz Rigon.
Scott is also survived by his sister Tammy (Stephen) Watt, brothers Brett (Kay), Kim and Jeff Nelles, and several extended family members and friends whom are all very grateful for their own special memories. We will love you forever Scott, and miss you always!
Scott was a gentle, curious and friendly spirit who had a good sense of humour. He was an avid reader who loved to learn, play guitar, sing and dabble in the arts. He was an attentive listener who believed that, “happiness in life consists simply in knowing we are loved.”
Scott held many roles as an employee with the City of Stratford. He volunteered for The Salvation Army and was a faithful member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Vancouver. A graveside service for family and friends will take place later in the summer at Avondale Cemetery in Stratford.
