Gwendolynn “Lynn” Jane Odbert Matthison, age 74, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge (Stratford) surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Born in St. Marys, daughter of the late Clarence and Gwen (Cookson) Odbert. Lynn is survived by her husband of 52 years Reg Matthison. Proud and loving mother of Erin (Jason) Richardson, Greg Matthison, Ashley Matthison and special family friends Jon Anderson and Samantha Ruddy. Loving grandmother of Kyle, Avery, Jake, Jack, Kate, Claire, and Grace. Lynn will be remembered by her brother Garry and his wife Linda and niece Tara (John) Boudreau and their son Emmett. Also survived by her mother-in-law Evelyn Matthison, brother-in-law Murray Matthison (Dolly), sister-in-law Louise Monteith (Brian), and brother in law Ross Matthison and along with her many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lynn was predeceased by her father-in-law Jack Matthison.

In Lynns earlier years, she was heavily involved in the St. Marys Marching Belles, Majorette & Drum Corp. and the St. Marys Marching Band. She worked 30+ years for the Royal Bank and upon retirement she became involved with the Perth County Archives and her own family history. She loved clogging, line dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Reg and his family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Ritz Lutheran Villa and Spruce Lodge for all the outstanding care and compassion given to Lynn. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered. Family and friends are invited to Lynn’s visitation on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford. Lynn’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m...
