In tribute to our father, J. Richard Clague, age 84, with love and fond memories, we announce his peaceful passing early on February 1, 2024 at Spruce Lodge, Stratford. Predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Walton. He is survived by his brother Robert Clague. Loving father of Barbara Farley (Barry) and Robert Clague (Cindy), grandfather of Janelle Farley, Larissa Farley-Marshall, Natasha Morgan, Madison Clague and Sam Clague, as well as great-grandfather of five cherished children.

Richard enjoyed a full life of activities including: traveling, fishing at Crane Lake, preparing lavish meals for friends and family, singing in church choirs since his childhood, listening to music, laughing, chatting and making friends. Specific memories include: preparing wild food dinners at St. George’s Anglican Church, Georgetown, participating in the Kleinburg Binder Twine Festival and advocating for the preservation of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Richard spent much of his working life as a Management Consultant for various firms over the years. His smile and sense of humour were appreciated by many. He is remembered as a gentleman with a beautiful tenor voice, always willing to lend a hand and fix things.

Many thanks are given to the caring staff at Spruce Lodge who made Richard’s last five years rich and meaningful; many, many important connections were made. The congregation and the Men’s Breakfast group at St. James Anglican Church, Stratford, and the Stratford Mobility Bus are to be thanked for being supportive and inclusive over the last many years enabling Richard to fully participate in the community and in church life which was so important to him.
