Julius Bere, age 87, of Stratford, passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Windsor on April 10, 2024. Born in Budapest, Hungary son of the late Andras and Margaret (Horvath) Bere and older brother to the late Andras Bere. He arrived in Canada, after fleeing Hungary as a 20 year old, during the 1956 revolution, leaving behind his widowed mother and his younger brother. Julius eventually came to Stratford where he met a beautiful, young Hungarian girl named Luijza Markhardt, who would soon become his wife. Julius and Luijza were married for 60 years, and lived happily in Stratford until Luijza's passing on February 8, 2018.

Julius was the loving father of Julius Bere (Kelly). Loving Nagypapa to Nathaniel Bere, Linton Bere (Donna) and Keenan Bere (Krista), who he loved to tease and torment with his dad jokes. Julius was a proud great Nagypapa to his much loved Ethan, Silas, Harrison, Madyson.

A private family service will be held when Julius will be laid to rest with his wife at Avondale Cemetery. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to H.D.G.H's Palliative Care Unit - The Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Unit.
