Donald Charles Bart, age 90, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on September 14, 2023 after a battle with cancer. Born in Stratford, July 4, 1933, son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Frobel) Bart.
Predeceased by the love of his life, Dorothy (Wittke) Bart whom he married on July 13, 1957, in Stratford and predeceased him April 24, 2023. Don is survived by his siblings Bernard, Harold and his in-laws Gordon (Ann) Wittke, Edna Phair, Marilyn Felhaber and longtime friends of Kevin and Kelley Goforth and along with several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by brothers Paul and Ken Bart, sister Doreen Herman (Albert) and his sisters-in-laws Simone, Margaret, Sonya, Elizabeth, Myrtle and Mildred and his brothers-in-law Jack Phair, Albert Wittke and Norman Wittke.
Don worked for the City of Stratford all his life and had another career singing at local establishments. He appeared on CKNX Wingham TV on a program called "Western Roundup".
A graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery (Columbarium Wall) on Thursday, October 5, at 1 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
