NEWS RELEASE
CYCLE STRATFORD

While there may still be snow on the ground, spring is in the air at Cycle Stratford.
Plans are underway for the start of cycling season, and all local cyclists are invited to join in.
Pete McDonnell, the club’s president, is excited about the club's plans for the coming year.
"Our first group ride of the season will be Sunday, May 4, leaving Market Square at 9 a.m.," McDonnell says.
In addition to the usual 30 km and 50 km routes, the club is planning to add a shorter ride at a slower pace, to help lapsed or new riders get comfortable on the road.
Dates and times for this ride are yet to be confirmed.
"It’s something that has been requested over the past few seasons," confirms McDonnell.
Another new addition to the weekly roster will be a gravel ride, to replace the longer road ride once a month.
"The area around Stratford has some great gravel routes, and we have many members who would like to explore them," says McDonnell.
All ride details will be posted on the club’s website as they become firm. https://cyclestratford.com/regular-rides/
The membership portal is now open on the club’s recently revamped website. https://cyclestratford.com/membership/
Anyone who signs up for membership by March 31 will be entered in an early-bird draw for one of two prizes provided by local businesses.
To supplement membership fees, the club also has a spring fundraiser, in collaboration with Sebringville’s Black Creek Flower Farm.
Members will be selling potted plants and bedding plants, including flowers, herbs and vegetables, until March 31.
