Golden Bears pick up bronze medals at WOSSAA basketball

Stratford DSS Golden Bears senior and junior boy's basketball teams rebounded from semifinal losses at the WOSSAA 'AAA' championships to win their respective bronze medal games on Monday. 

The senior Golden Bears won 75-34 over St. Thomas Parkside in the third place game after a 61-47 loss to St. André Bessette in the semifinal. The junior boy's won 72-43 over Parkside after a 54-39 loss, also to St. André Bessette, in their semifinal. 

Banting and Lucas, respectively, won the senior and junior WOSSAA titles.

At the WOSSAA senior girl's 'AAA' volleyball championships, Stratford DSS lost to Parkside in the bronze medal game 25-14, 25-14, 25-18. The Golden Bears lost their semifinal 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 to St. Thomas Aquinas. The junior girl's lost 25-12, 25-13, 25-12 to Lucas in their bronze medal game after a 25-12, 25-8, 25-14 loss against Mother Theresa in the semifinal.
