They also made the in-person training and orientation mandatory -- with only a few reasons for missing training allowed. Some questions arose during council about whether training needs to be in-person or not, though most councillors agreed that because of the complexity of the job, it is needed

Stratford City Council approved funding to renovate the boathouse washrooms, money that is in addition to a federal grant to Destination Stratford that ultimately wasn't enough to complete the project. The city-owned property will get a modern look and more bathrooms for residents, local workers and tourists.

Businessman Larry McCabe still has his eyes set on city hall, but has decided to run as a city councillor. After initially filling out the paperwork and declaring a run for mayor of Stratford, he has withdrawn from the mayor's race.
