Evidently not all family members love the hustle and bustle of Halloween night, as the family dog can sometimes find the coming and going of trick-or-treaters a bit much to take.

The gang over at Fido's Playground Doggie Daycare and Canine Education Centre at 141 Monteith Avenue have just the thing: Fido's After Dark!

From 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, you can give your dog a night off from all the Halloween craziness by booking them in for a relaxing time at Fido's. Owner Stev Smith said it's their way of helping pet owners free up time to enjoy the night while giving their four-legged friends a night off.

"It just helps people who want to enjoy trick-or-treating with their family to know their dog won't be at home barking all the time," he said. "It helps the relax and be able to have fun."

Posted to one of the Stratford-area Facebook pages, someone asked if the event was good for dogs who are still learning to socialize with other canines.

"Yes, this is a good type of thing for dogs who are still in that learning stage," Smith said.

Pre-registration isn't required but Smith said it will help them figure out their staffing needs for the night. The cost per dog is $25. And as for what the pooches will be up to while you're out filling up a treat bag?

"I think my wife has some movies planned for them," Smith joked.
