Special weather statement continued for:

  •    Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
  •    Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
  •    Waterloo - Wellington

Current details:
Significant rainfall expected today through Friday morning.

Hazard:
Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm.
Locally higher amounts are possible for areas that receive thunderstorms.

Timing:
Continuing through tonight, then tapering to showers Friday morning.

Discussion:
Rain has overspread the area and will continue through tonight. A risk of thunderstorms will develop this afternoon into tonight. For areas that receive thunderstorms, rainfall amounts may approach 50 mm locally by Friday morning. Rain is expected to taper to showers on Friday morning.

Northwesterly winds will intensify in behind the system late Friday afternoon into Friday night with gusts up to 80 km/h. This will bring in cooler air resulting in lingering rain to mix with snow Friday night into Saturday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
