Perth County opens applications for compliance audit committee

The city of Stratford, town of St. Marys, municipality of North Perth, township of Perth East, township of Perth South and municipality of West Perth are looking for people with demonstrable knowledge of the 1995 Municipalities Act.

The application process for appointment to the Joint Compliance Audit Committee for the 2022 Municipal Election is open.

The city of Stratford, town of St. Marys, municipality of North Perth, township of Perth East, township of Perth South and municipality of West Perth are looking for people with demonstrable knowledge of the 1995 Municipalities Act.

The applicants are asked to have:

  • Proven analytical and decision-making skills;
  • Experience working on committees, task forces or similar settings;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quasi-judicial proceedings;
  • Availability and willingness to attend meetings (daytime and/or evening); and
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Applicants with a background in accounting, auditing or law are encouraged to apply.

Individuals who have run for office in Municipal Elections for any of the participating municipalities, or who have conducted audits or provided financial advice in respect of Municipal Elections for any of the participating municipalities or candidates will be disqualified.

The Joint Compliance Audit Committee's purpose is to consider the validity of any audit applications, review reports from auditors and advise council in matters related to the audits.

The Application Form can be completed online at the Perth County website or a copy obtained by contacting the municipal clerk of the county of Perth, city of Stratford, town of St. Marys, municipality of North Perth, township of Perth East, township of Perth South or municipality of West Perth.

Applicants have until Sept. 2 to submit their application.
