Victoria Baby is the incoming CEO of the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth.

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) has a new chief executive officer.

Victoria Baby will take on the role, beginning on Nov. 13.

“On behalf of the board of directors, I am delighted to welcome Victoria as our incoming CEO. Victoria comes with extensive leadership experience in the non-profit sector. She is recognized for her ability to motivate teams under a common vision while strategically moving organizational priorities forward. We look forward to Victoria’s contributions and support,” Angela Woods, president of the board of directors, said in a media release.

Baby has dedicated her career to supporting communities through work with a variety of provincial and national charities and has a passion for animals, their welfare, and the human-animal bond that resonates deeply with the Humane Society’s mission and values.

Baby takes on the role from Kathrin Delutis, CEO from 2017 until her retirement next month. Delutis will continue supporting the Humane Society during Victoria’s first few weeks.

“I want to express, on behalf of the board, our sincere appreciation for the consummate professionalism and strength Kathrin has exhibited as a leader. With the challenges faced throughout the pandemic and the growing needs of the community, Kathrin continuously prioritized the well-being of the animals, employees, and volunteers. She has been a true asset to us and the larger community we serve. We wish her all the best in her retirement,” Woods said.
