Kinsmen Assist with $15K to help Rotary AQUABOX program

AQUABOX is a simple, low-cost filtration system that can provide purified drinking water to a family of five for up to a year

The Rotary AQUABOX program received a $15,000 boost thanks to a donation from the Kinsmen Club of Stratford over the weekend.

Kinsmen helped assemble over 500 boxes ready for shipment to Global Medic, a non-profit disaster response organization of paramedics and first responder volunteers, who will distribute the AQUABOX units globally to those most in need, including disaster stricken areas of Latin America, the Caribbean,  Southeast Asia and recently the Ukraine.

“The kits that were built are currently in Global Medic preposition stock” stated Jamie Cross Senior Emergency Programs Manager in a news release issued today. “This means they are prepped and ready to go as soon as there is an acute crisis that occurs. This is extremely helpful for our operations as it gives us the flexibility to respond quickly when disaster strikes” he added. Kinsmen Bob Walters said about 40 to 50 Kinsmen, Rotarians, Global Medic and volunteers young and old were on hand to assemble the over 500 boxes at Jutzi Water Technologies on 525 Wright Blvd, Stratford..
