Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae attended the Dublin Community Centre last week.

The Dublin Lions Club used a $38,300 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to refurbish outdoor washrooms at the Dublin Community Centre.

The restoration project in West Perth was completed last week and included some major upgrades including weatherproofing and enlargement for accessibility, a  news release said.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae attended the centre to view the project.

“Our communities deserve accessible, quality recreational facilities,” said Rae, MPP for Perth-Wellington. “I regularly attend community events across Perth- Wellington, it is clear how integral they are to our communities. This Trillium Foundation grant is great news for families in Dublin and across West Perth.”

In addition to accessible washrooms, the restoration also improved storage facilities for community groups. The Centre is used for a variety of meetings, gatherings, celebrations and fundraisers.

"The support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has been invaluable,” said Darcey Cook, Recreation and Facilities Manager for the Municipality of West Perth.  “Their assistance has not only enhanced our facilities but has also contributed to the creation of a more inviting and accessible space. Seeing it unveiled is an  exciting moment for our community."
