After a lengthy wait due to the pandemic, the Stratford city hall elevator is now operational.
According to a post on the City of Stratford's Facebook page, after an inspection of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) the elevator is ready for use by the public.
Due to provisions in the Municipal Act, because of the elevator's disrepair Stratford City Council could not conduct in-person meetings in chambers as it was not accessible.
In-person meetings in the council chambers will resume as of Feb. 6, 2023.
