Colleen Schindler: Permission to be still
Upper Gallery 1

Colleen Schindler invites viewers to embrace the beauty of stillness and introspection in her exhibition titled Permission to be still. Drawing inspiration from the intricate details of both natural and built environments, Schindler's vibrant and colourful artwork captures fleeting moments and intimate experiences of place. From weathered wallpaper to the subtle patterns of lichens, her drawings and embroideries encourage visitors to slow down and appreciate the often-overlooked beauty that surrounds us.

Schindler, an interdisciplinary artist with an MFA from Louisiana State University, is known for her exploration of memory, time, and shared experiences. She has participated in artist residencies in Canada, France and Ireland. Her award-winning work has been exhibited internationally and is in private and public collections.

Join us for the artist reception on June 2, from 1-4 pm and give yourself Permission to be still.

Grahame Lynch: Of breath and water
Upper Gallery 2

In Of breath and water, Grahame Lynch presents a compelling series of self-portraits and fragmented depictions of waves and stormy skies. Rooted in his experiences of visual disability, Lynch's work explores themes of internal dialogue, chaos, and resilience. Through innovative photographic processes and collage-based methods, he creates images that challenge traditional perceptions of time and space, inviting viewers to reconsider their emotional connections to sight.

Lynch, a multidisciplinary artist with an MFA from the University of Guelph, is recognized for his innovative approach to art and his ability to stimulate meaningful discussions.
